The Crisis Facing Syrians
Since the onset of the Syrian Civil War in 2011, millions of Syrians have been forced to flee their homes, becoming internally displaced within their own country. These displaced individuals face immense challenges, including inadequate shelter, lack of access to healthcare, and severe food insecurity. The protracted conflict has devastated Syria's economy, infrastructure, and agricultural sector. The increased demand for housing, education, and healthcare services has stretched resources thin, exacerbating poverty and social disparities.
THE URGENT NEED FOR NUTRITION
Food insecurity is a critical issue for internally displaced Syrians. Limited access to essential resources has left many unable to afford an adequate diet. Malnutrition, particularly among children, persists due to insufficient access to nutritious food and healthcare services. The conflict has disrupted local food production, leading to higher food prices and widespread food insecurity among the displaced population.OUR FRESH QURBAN PROGRAM
Muslim Aid Australia is implementing a humanitarian aid project to improve food security and nutrition for internally displaced Syrians by distributing fresh meat during Eid al-Adha. Our program is designed with the utmost care and adherence to Islamic principles:- Ethical Sourcing: Before Eid, our experienced team visits local farmers and suppliers to inspect the livestock meticulously. We ensure that all animals meet strict Islamic guidelines and are defects-free.
- Halal Sacrifice: During the three days of Eid, the animals are sacrificed according to Halal procedures under the supervision of our dedicated staff or a trusted representative.
- Preparation & Packaging: The meat is carefully prepared and packaged into individual bags or boxes for needy families.
- Local Delivery: We prioritise delivering the Qurban meat directly to families and communities within the designated regions, ensuring your donation reaches those most in need.

Note: At MAA, we believe we have a duty to fight injustice at every level, big and small. It’s not enough to give aid to the most vulnerable and marginalised after harm has befallen them; we must stand up for them and empower their voices. To fulfil our collective obligation, MAA may dedicate a portion of your sadaqah donations to this cause to create change and dismantle the forces that harm the most marginalised.
